Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse and Badlands: Young Explorers

Enjoy the fun of shared time together as you explore Mount Rushmore National Memorial, Crazy Horse Mountain carving, Badlands National Park and the beautiful Black Hills. Learn how Mount Rushmore came to be carved out of solid granite and why the four Presidents where chosen to be carved there. Discover ancient fossils and lunar-like deposits in the Badlands. Go horseback riding, splash in an historic warm water spring, visit a mammoth sink hole and learn how to pan for gold like Potato Creek Johnny. During the week we’ll travel the ‘wildlife loop’ road in search of buffalo, pronghorns, begging burrows, and big horn sheep. Share stories around an open fire while you learn, laugh, share, and create memories for both generations.

Note: This intergenerational program is for adults and young learners ages 8-11. One or Two adults per child; families share accommodation up to four people per room in two queen-sized beds. Adult is responsible for supervision of child at all times. Hilly terrain, stairs, elevations above 5,000 feet. Shuttle to/from airport, extra fee.
